This Whole Lip-Syncing Business...

First off, this post is not about defending anyone. It's about putting a taboo subject on blast.

Below is the link of the Billboard Music Awards performance that everyone is bitching about: Chris Brown's performance of "Turn Up the Music."

Alright first of all, this is an award show for mainstream music. Fans of mainstream music CANNOT be satisfied. So many complaints about this show: Chris Brown lip-synced, Katy Perry couldn't sing and copied Pink's Grammy performance, even Usher's bitter ex-wife got ripped a new one on Twitter after running her mouth about his performance, and people even had the nerve to call Nelly Furtado FAT. But I somewhat digress from my point.

Before I start, if you think another artist has stolen your routine, sue them. Don't be a messy person and bitch about it on Twitter. It makes you look even lamer than you already are, Mr. and Mrs. PINK.

So Chris Brown lip-synced through his routine. Let's be real about the situation, are people REALLY mad because he is lip-syncing? Or are they are mad because it's Chris Brown and he's music's #1 pariah right now?

And if CB came out and sang live, without any choreography, and gave a dynamite performance, would people really congratulate him? Or would they still find something to complain about BECAUSE he is CB?

And how come no one is complaining about the singers who do sing live, but have AWFUL voices? Is that more acceptable because they are not using a playback? Hello, Rihanna anybody??? She does not have the strongest live voice. And neither does Pink!!!

All of the singers of the past AND present who have lip-synced at least once in their career, and everyone is mad about CB? Everyone is acting so brand new, as if every single performer out there has the ability to sing live AND give a stellar performance, AND sound exactly like the CD/radio track. Get outta here with that bullshit, people. MJ did it, Janet has done it, Usher has done it...but just because they did it better and have more training under their belt, it's ok?
And sorry Beyonce fans, this means y'all too! I'm sure she's done it once or twice!!!!

Maybe people should stop putting singers on such a pedestal and expect them to be perfect. People have been lip-syncing since music videos became an outlet for artists.

I really don't think this issue has anything to do with lip-syncing at all, otherwise a backlash would come out after every award show. It's because Everyone Hates Chris(oh ha ha).
