Things That Make You Go... Hmm

On another forum that I frequent, I came across this post with an open letter to Black folks...I've heard this letter is very old, but that's besides the point.

DISCLAIMER: Since this is a racial topic, some words will be edited. Mostly because I'm writing this at work :p

Anyone with half a brain should be able to tell quickly that this letter was NOT created by the hateful ***. If you know anything about the types of people that make up this group, you know that the *** is not this coherent and articulate. And aren't groups like the *** and Neo-N*zis firmly against the mixing of the races? It's time to call bullshit.

I think this letter was actually written by a conscious yet fed-up Black person. And as a fellow CYFUBP, I , for the most part, agree with this letter. There are many public figures out there who speak on the needed improvement of the Black community, and they do it in a positive light and positive language. But after all this time, that method of attack the problem isn't working. At all. I've said it before and I'll say it again: there is a difference between Black people and n****s. The above letter doesn't apply to all of us.

Addressing the attitudes and violence amongst Black folks they way it has been isn't solving the issue. I mean really, what is the point of killing each other? Because he said something mean to you? Because he stepped on your Jordans? Or maybe you're just a jealous hater and you don't like the fact that he's got a nice girl, nice house, pretty girlfriend? Whatever happened to talking out differences or settling it in with a fistfight? Or a nice breakdance battle like they did in the 1980s? Are some of you Gang Bangers too scared to get your ass beat in a fight or you have to shoot someone in the face to settle a beef? And you wonder why you still don't have a job, you live in a shack, and your baby mama has purple weave. Because you're a lazy ass pussy. Too direct? Oh well. Anybody can pull the trigger, it takes a real person to handle AND walk away/lose a fight.

This Whole Lip-Syncing Business...

First off, this post is not about defending anyone. It's about putting a taboo subject on blast.

Below is the link of the Billboard Music Awards performance that everyone is bitching about: Chris Brown's performance of "Turn Up the Music."

Alright first of all, this is an award show for mainstream music. Fans of mainstream music CANNOT be satisfied. So many complaints about this show: Chris Brown lip-synced, Katy Perry couldn't sing and copied Pink's Grammy performance, even Usher's bitter ex-wife got ripped a new one on Twitter after running her mouth about his performance, and people even had the nerve to call Nelly Furtado FAT. But I somewhat digress from my point.

Before I start, if you think another artist has stolen your routine, sue them. Don't be a messy person and bitch about it on Twitter. It makes you look even lamer than you already are, Mr. and Mrs. PINK.

So Chris Brown lip-synced through his routine. Let's be real about the situation, are people REALLY mad because he is lip-syncing? Or are they are mad because it's Chris Brown and he's music's #1 pariah right now?

And if CB came out and sang live, without any choreography, and gave a dynamite performance, would people really congratulate him? Or would they still find something to complain about BECAUSE he is CB?

And how come no one is complaining about the singers who do sing live, but have AWFUL voices? Is that more acceptable because they are not using a playback? Hello, Rihanna anybody??? She does not have the strongest live voice. And neither does Pink!!!

All of the singers of the past AND present who have lip-synced at least once in their career, and everyone is mad about CB? Everyone is acting so brand new, as if every single performer out there has the ability to sing live AND give a stellar performance, AND sound exactly like the CD/radio track. Get outta here with that bullshit, people. MJ did it, Janet has done it, Usher has done it...but just because they did it better and have more training under their belt, it's ok?
And sorry Beyonce fans, this means y'all too! I'm sure she's done it once or twice!!!!

Maybe people should stop putting singers on such a pedestal and expect them to be perfect. People have been lip-syncing since music videos became an outlet for artists.

I really don't think this issue has anything to do with lip-syncing at all, otherwise a backlash would come out after every award show. It's because Everyone Hates Chris(oh ha ha).

Yeah It's Me

So after years of thinking I was too good to start a blog, well, here I am. Welcome, take your shoes off at the door, please.

Why? Because a lot of society gets dumber and dumber by the day, and the character limit on places like YouTube and Twitter doesn't give enough space for me to put folks in their place. I don't do it on Facebook, because frankly it's boring. Bunch of weirdos complaining and posting below-average pictures of themselves. But I'll get to that in a later post :)

Any topic is open for discussion, as I will be rambling, bitching, and on my soap box about entertainment, fashion, eating healthy, stupid people, etc. Except for religion: not because I am a blasphemer, but because I don't have to answer to anyone except the Man upstairs. So take your Bible-thumping elsewhere.

All you really need to know about me at this point is that I am an employed college student living in Maryland.

With that said, this will be a no-holds barred blog.  There will be profanity, and it will be messy and offensive. No one is safe on this blog, but I will give credit when it is properly due.

If you can't handle it, be gone. Otherwise, keep reading!
